A medium-sized poker room, Absolute Poker has a huge advantage working in its favor nowadays: It accepts US players. Ever since the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 passed, many – previously thriving – online poker rooms experienced a sudden drop in player numbers. At the same time, sites like Absolute Poker and Full Tilt Poker had a huge player influx, as all the “poker room-less” American players took them by assault.
It may not be entirely fair to “blame” all of Absolute Poker success on the UIGEA though. After all, they do give their new players a hefty 100% match on their first deposit, up to $500. Absolute Poker does offer rakeback (30% to be exact) and if you are a good poker player and a reasonably clever person, this alone should be enough of a reason for you to join this poker room.
