Betfair Poker is one component in the Betfair portfolio which includes the world's most dominating betting exchanges, casino and skillgames. Betfair is dominating the betting exchange market with a market share of more than 80%. A lot of successful sports bettors try poker where many of them are not so successful. Commonly big sports betters will play medium-high stakes when they play poker.
Betfair Poker has recently joined the OnGame Network.
Poker rooms use different methods to calculate rake. According to Betfair, the method used to calculate rake is the average contributed rake method.

Launched back in 2000, Betfair is currently known as one of the largest sports exchange operators in the world. On top of the sports betting operation and online casino it runs, it also offers online poker to its customers.
Betfair Poker was launched in 2004, at the peak of the online poker craze. At the time, the operation decided that the right approach demanded it to develop its own software and to stay independent of large poker networks. This independence allowed Betfair to offer generous loyalty deals to its customers for the first 6 years of its existence. As a matter of fact, the loyalty reward market was one of the site’s prime targets. As of July 2010, in order to maintain the high quality of the online poker services it offered, the group made the move and joined the OnGame network, currently the 5th largest operation of its kind in the online poker industry.
While the move will allow Betfair to refresh its promotions system and to once again offer its players some of the best value perks and special events in the industry, it also means that there will be certain changes in regards to the Betfair loyalty reward system.
Players signing up to the site after July 12th will no longer receive Betfair loyalty rewards in their old form, but they will not go unrewarded. Taking the place of the Betfair loyalty deal of old will be a loyalty program, based on poker points players earn at the real money cash and tournament tables. These poker points can then be taken to the site’s store and spent on Betfair merchandize, or – even better – traded in for cash.
This loyalty scheme, known henceforth as Betfair Value back, has gone live on July 27th. The bonus codes player need to enter in order to make sure they receive their Betfair sign-up bonus, have changed as well.
Betfair have a license to operate in Denmark and will be accepting Danish players after 1st January 2012.
